LRV (Light Reflectance Value) – 29
The baroque mansion Calke Abbey in Derbyshire was passed, via 12 generations of Baronet Henry Harpur’s family, into the National Trust’s care in 1985. The Dining Room, where this soft green was used for the putti (cherub) panel detailing, was designed in the early 19th century. Unlike much of the property, which the National Trust preserved in decline, this room was restored to its original neoclassical design, providing a tantalising glimpse of the mansion in its former glory.
